If I have a multi-function printer, would copying papers be more ink-efficient than printing multiple copies?

If anything the copies would probably use slightly more ink because they're likely to copy bits of dust and such. You're using the same ink supply for both, so always print: much better quality results. If I have a multi-function printer, would copying papers be more ink-efficient than printing multiple copies?
It takes the same amount of ink to copy as it does to print but I find the quality of print is more precise so I print whenever possible.
