Luddite getting Apple laptop. Need printer/scanner. Any suggestions for ink economy?

Probably won't do much photo printing, but who knows?Luddite getting Apple laptop. Need printer/scanner. Any suggestions for ink economy?
Go to the Epson website. Be sure to look at the Clearance products. The refurbished printers have a warranty the same as new printers. Before you buy go to the site below and check out the CISS systems. It will save you tons of money and you will never run out of ink.

I have a dell aio printer the black ink is not working?

The color is working fine. I can copy photo's fine, but when I try to copy just

with black it prints nothing. Both are new cartridges (and yes I took off the tape on the cartridge) Any suggestions?I have a dell aio printer the black ink is not working?
Try physically cleaning the print cartridge:

1) First, check the cartridge for physical defects: A common one is to have the gold foil circuitry peeling away from the cartridge.

2) Using rubbing alcohol, clean the bottom part of the cartridge, usually covered in gold foil--part circuitry, part printhead.

3) If the above does not work, try soaking the cartridge in water--making sure that the bottom part with the gold foil is beneath the surface of the water--for a period of about 10 minutes. This will help unclog the printheads.

If either of these do not work, you'll need to replace the cartridge.I have a dell aio printer the black ink is not working?
Do you have a manual for the printer? Go to the Dell website?

Some printers have both ink cartridges and printheads. If yours is one of these then the printhead is probably bad. HP has both. Dell has a forum that you can ask questions on and there is live chat.

Enjoy!!
take it out and put it back in.
You have my empathy here, just finished the same problem. Take a look at the bottom of the cartridge, is there some ink -- brush around the edges of that face? If no ink, you must change the cartridge -- cartridges can easily go ';bad,'; for a number of reasons. I had 2 NG with plenty of ink that I had to discard, the third

is fine. Oh, and be sure your black right now

is not printing from both the computer and the printer, you could have a command problem, be sure all your settings are at ';factory default''; just now, both devices.

What is the best, cheapest printer? with cheap ink?

I am looking for an all in one printer that is less then $50.00, and ink to replace it I want to be about $10.00 or a little more for all the cartridges so when I need ink I just have to spend about $10.00.

I have an epson stylus cx7400 which just died on me, and I used to have the epson stylus cx4800, but I sold it, and that one had some issues too.

I don't want another epson cause ink is too expensive.What is the best, cheapest printer? with cheap ink?

  • Printer cartridge question: We bought an ink refill injection kit. What went wrong?

    The refilled cartridges worked for a little while (10 pages or so) just fine, then the ink went dry and also spilled inside the printer. We did not fill the printer with ';after market'; cartridges. We just injected the ink into the correct holes. (We have an HP Photosmart C3100 series printer).

    Did HP program the cartridges to ';fail'; when the printer somehow discovered the ink was replaced, instead of the cartridges? They are making a bloody fortune from these cartridges which don't last long at all.Printer cartridge question: We bought an ink refill injection kit. What went wrong?
    Most of the refill kits are garbage and if you are using one you have to know what you are doing. Even if you refill the cartridges properly you are still using a lower quality ink than was originally intended. You can buy professionally refilled and tested cartridges with a replacement warranty only for about 50% less than the cost of original HP cartridges from several vendors online. I wouldn't use them while your printer is still under warranty in case of any failures. I usually only buy the black cartridges refilled because you are less likely to fail, and tend to have better print quality.

    Welcome to the world of inkjet printing. HP could give printers away, and still make money selling cartridges only.Printer cartridge question: We bought an ink refill injection kit. What went wrong?
    what went wrong was buying a refil kit, never put refils into a printer, always buy the genuine hp cartridges, I know there expensive but its worthy it, you get more prints, better qaulity and lrdd problems like spillages. I work for a computer/printer repair company and we see heaps of people come in with printer problems from using refills, some totally destroy the printer all together to the extent that they have to purchase a new printer all together and hp will not cover any parts or repairs if you are using non genuine hp catridges. Hp did not intended for the refil cartridges to fail or make them fail, its just hp dont build there printers to accept cheap non generic cartridges, they build them to take there cartridges. I suggest take it to a repair company or a printer company and get it cleaned and tested, and buy yourself a new cartridge

    I bought an ink refill kit HP printer it says to refill before empy? how do I know when I get it full?

    when it runs all over your fingers and onto the carpet below!!!

    LOL, couldnt restst...it will bubble up b4 it runs over....watch for bubbles and have a napkin ready!

    How to insert ink in hp c3180 printer?

    Do you mean refilling the catridges or just replacing them?

    If you want to refill them (which is usually much cheaper) I suggest you visit a professional refill shop, incase you stuff it up.

    If you are just replacing the catridges, it should be fairly straightforward. Check your instruction manual.

    Re: Epson Stylus CX5400 printer/copier. Cannot get it to print a copy. The ink does not come through.?

    I never had a problem with this Epson before but now after new cartridges it will not copy anything...black or in color. I've already cleaned the heads, etc but to no avail. Sometimes there is slight ink in the beginning of the copied document but it just fades away from there on. Any suggestions from anyone or did I just get a lemon. Thanks for your help.....Re: Epson Stylus CX5400 printer/copier. Cannot get it to print a copy. The ink does not come through.?
    Try taking the yellow tape of the ink cartridge, you have to tear it off to let the air in. about a 1/4 of the length of it

    Do I need a special printer and/or ink to make transfers for a heat press machine?

    I am looking to start a small business making shirts using a heat press to sell in my area (online, at stores, at fairs, etc.) But I need to know if I need a special printer or what? Basically what I'm asking is how do you make transfers for a heat press machine. And NO I don't want Iron-on transfers for personal use, I want professional transfers. Can you please tell me what I need, how or where I can get it, and if you have a link that would be great. Thanks.Do I need a special printer and/or ink to make transfers for a heat press machine?
    Yes you not only need special inks you also need special paper.

    I don't know exactly how your printer works since they are all different, but with my HP one, you start up the software that came with the printer. Mine is called HP Solution Center. • Printer won't recognised ink cartridges?

    I have a new Epson Stylus S20, which I bought from Argos 2 weeks ago. It worked well for the first week, but now It son'w reckognise the ink cartridges. I bought new genuine ink, but it still won't reckognise it! What can I do?Printer won't recognised ink cartridges?
    Take it back to Argos for either a new printer or a refund. The printer is under warranty for 12 months so it has to work for that amount of time of they have a legal obligation to replace or refund. Epson printers are terrible to block - see the article in the link about them.

    Edit

    If you bought your model number for 拢78 in Argos then it is only 拢40 from Tesco. I'd take it back and just ask for a refund on the grounds it is faulty and then get it from there instead!

    double check to make sure you have the right cartridges. take them out start your printer empty turn it off and put the ink back in making sure u put them in properly, my cannon printer used to do the same thing until i realized i wasn't putting the ink in quite right, if it still doesn't work right take it back with the ink and see if someone can help u real quick or get another one entirely.

    hope i helped good luck!
    Just a thought - you did check that the printer is On-line, not off-line, mine occasionally just goes onto off line for no reason. If you have checked this - ignore my answer
    Tricky, and I'm afraid Epson printers are particularly prone to this. I'd take it back to Argos, and ask for a new one.
    Have you removed the printhead sealing tapes from the cartriges?

    How does a printer know when its out of ink?

    They don't actually know. Apparently there is a floating chip in some and when it reaches the bottom ,or a point towards the bottom, it signals the printer that ink is low. Others have a page printer counter but a page could contain two line of be full of text so it could not accurately know how much ink was left. There usually is 20% of the ink left when it says ink low and not empty at all so I always wait until it no longer prints properly then change it.How does a printer know when its out of ink?
    well the printer don't know

    it will take paper to print

    Check you ink cartridges - make sure there is enough ink in them. Run a test print, clean the heads and nozzles.

    It could be that your new computer isn't correctly calibrated i.e. the colour that you see on the screen may not necessarily be what comes out of the printer. Go into your System Preferences and check your display settings.

    If you print a lot of B7W a MONO laser is your best bet, but don't buy a ';really cheap'; model, they willcost more per page to run.

    If you plan to do a lot of colour, a decent colour laser would be cheaper and quicker than inkjet also, but you can't use the glossy paper in them.Which is cheaper if you have to print alot of black and white pages an ink jet or laser printer?
    Laser printer.

    An inkjet printer cartridge can yield 80-100 pages before it runs out

    A laser toner can yield anywhere from 1500-15000 pages before it runs out.

    Keep in mind toners cost more than liquid ink cartridges, but in the long run, it saves you a ton.

    How do i remove and clean the waste ink pads in a HP PSC 1500 all in one printer?
    Don't remove them - the printer's not worth it.

    Turn the printer on, and allow the carriage to disengage and move up the spindle - then unplug it. You should now be able to see the waste ink pads in teh bottom-right hand corner.

    Simply dab them off with some lint-free material - cotton, or such. If you like, you can use thinners to help (I've had results with meths, but it's up to you. High-quality vodka would be ok.)

    indoors.

    covered.
    It is possible for it to run if it gets wet. It also will run more if you use a paper that is not like actual photo paper. The difference between photos printed on a computer and photos printed expertly is the type of photo paper and how they are processed. Actual photo paper you can leave in water and it will not harm the colors on the photo but a photo you print at home the colors are on the paper as ink instead of a chemical reaction. A way to protect your printed pictures is plastic page sleeves available at hobby shops as well as target or wal-mart. To protect against sun damage is carry the photos in a three ring binder, photo album, or just keep them out of the sun. If protected well enough with keeping them dry and out of the sun and on acid free papers (normaly everything is now days) it should last a couple generations.

    Why does my lexmark printer print red ink?

    When my ink cartridge was running low, I was happy for my print-outs to come out in the red ink that was still left in the catridge. My computer asked me to print an alignment page, which obviously came out red (instead of the normal blue) which I then I had to scan.

    Now, I have put a new refilled cartridge into my printer - but all my print-outs still come out red - how can I fix this? I assume it's because I have aligned the printer according to the red ink (when the catridge was running out).

    Please help!

    Thanks.Why does my lexmark printer print red ink?
    When you run out of ink the print head dries and clogs (apart from the red) you can try using one of the print head cleaner solutions available and purging the print head with one of the maintenance settings otherwise you will need to send it back for a new printheadWhy does my lexmark printer print red ink?
    It is actually only printing red because you have clogged print heads.

    Run a couple print head cleanings to see if that solves your issue, however it is likely you will have to replace the cartridge.
    Try giving the new cartridge a little shake to get the ink moving - maybe it's been sitting in the package too long %26amp; needs some encouragement.

    Also make sure you have not been sold cartrige low on ink.

    Try taking them out and putting them all back in. Becareful though don't want it to get messy.

    Have you chosen correct paper choice on menue. Is the paper double sided printing.

    Sounds to me though, you are out of black ink.How to fix: my printer prints faded ink?
    Sounds like your cartridge is out of ink. You are using a colour cartridge which only has 3 colours, cyan, yellow and magenta (blue), to make the black for printing you need blue ink and a touch of cyan=black (very dark brown). So buy a new cartridge. Failing that your print heads are blocked, so try cleaning them. If it is printing words you can read, that means the printer is working, but colour is the problem so ink is either empty or the heads need cleaning.

  • I am using an Epson printer,printing on to pearlised card the ink keeps smudging.What can i do to stop this?

    Try changing your paper selection to a transparency. What is happening is the ink is pooling up on the top of the paper and not soaking in. When you tell the printer you are using a paper that is not as absorbent (such as a plastic transparency) it only sprays a small amount of ink onto the surface, meaning it will dry faster and not pool up and smear.

    I've done this myself and it works great.I am using an Epson printer,printing on to pearlised card the ink keeps smudging.What can i do to stop this?
    Give the ink a chance to dry first.I am using an Epson printer,printing on to pearlised card the ink keeps smudging.What can i do to stop this?
    My only advice is to make sure and print only one sheet at a time, and then when it's done printing, carefully lay the sheet to the side till the ink has completely dried. However, if the print head is smudging the ink, you're pretty much out of luck.
    in the configuration menu I suggest you change the amount of ink it places on your paper to less.....it varies from printer software to printer software.....some class as quality some don't...anyway less ink on the card will allow it to dry quiker...and give it time b4 you go moving it as the card will still have ink on it that isn't dried.....

    I have a Lexmark Z33 printer, that shows I have plenty of ink but it will not print clearly?

    Hi. The level of ink in the maintenance page is only approximate. Try a cleaning cycle on that page. All three colors and B%26amp;W should show up.I have a Lexmark Z33 printer, that shows I have plenty of ink but it will not print clearly?
    Lexmark z33 the 0016 black cartridge, take the cartridge out of the printer, take a paper towel and fold it in half, now dab the cartridge on it to see if the cartridge is bleeding, do you get a solid black line ?, no OK, the chances are the printer had sat for a while and ink had dried on the cartridge head, now you need to boil some water, you also need a container large enough to set the cartridge in, a small bottle of 99% isopropyl alcohol and some Q tips, once the water is boiled put about a half inch or so in the container, now dab the cartridge in and out you should see it start to bleed when the water starts turning black, now dab it on the paper towel and never in the same spot so you can see if the cartridge bleeding gets better or not, squeeze the sides of the cartridge with your fingers a few times to induce the bleeding, you should get a solid black line now, now take the Q tip and dip it into the alcohol, turn the Q tip sideways and gently rub the contact board on the back of the cartridge that's the small electronic board on the back make sure the Q tip stays clean, if it gets dirty use a clean one and dip into the alcohol until you get a clean Q tip, now let it sit for 5 minutes, install the cartridge back into the printer and print, hope this helps and good luck.
    Get rid of it and buy an hp or canon, because you will continue to have trouble with it....I have been a computer tech for 18 yrs and have had more trouble out of Lexmark than any other printer on the market...

    yes you can, but the ink of your printer is not waterproof.

    what i suggest is that the suppplier do the hole thing. its even less expensive than inkjet printin when you do the design on yuor own and just take the file to the printer.

    alejandrodiazguerrero@yahoo.comIs is possible to have a supplier die-cut vinyls on blank sheets and then print on my own ink-jet printer?
    Ale***** is right. It would probably smudge. I am a die maker and vinyl layout designer. But if you test your printer you might be surprised. My old Misomex machine use to use an ink pin to transfer layouts but if you want a picture this won't work. Would be nice if a printer came out that used ink pins instead of printer heads.

    Why do people continue to use printers that use ink cartridges, when a laser printer is cheaper.?

    I can understand why they would for photos, but I don't think they are good if you just need to print out something and color doesn't matter. I used to have a Ink jet printer and I was going though Ink every three months. I tried to use the refill kits, but they were not the same quality as the name brand ink cartridges. I bought a laser printer a year ago, and its still on the original cartridge. The laser printer prints out about 1,000 pages before it runs out of Toner. I havn't even had to buy any toner cartridges, since I gotten the laser printer. The Toner cartridges that you buy at the store print out about 3,000-5,000 pages depending on what toner cartridge you buy. People say they are really expensive, usually $100-$150 a Toner cartridge, I would have already spent this much this year if I still had the ink jet printer. I can't imagine how much I would save if I bought a Toner that I saw at the store that prints $5000 pages for $135. Laser printers are also not the expensive.Why do people continue to use printers that use ink cartridges, when a laser printer is cheaper.?
    If you print that much at all, that is.

    For someone who prints just a few pages a day, inkjets make a lot of sense. Lower initial investments and all that.

    A couple more things: inkjets use little power if any. Laser printer needs a lot of power for the fuser, and even the ';instant-on'; fusers need a few seconds to warm up.

    Also, research in Australia shows that laser printers emits microparticles that MAY have health effects. Not to mention ozone. No emissions from an inkjet.

    How can i tell how much ink i have left in my printer?

    you can't, the only thing is that when it is getting low your computer will tell you (with a pop up)How can i tell how much ink i have left in my printer?
    Usually your computer program from your printer will tell you when it is getting low, or has run out of ink.

    Go to your printer, and ask it how much ink is left.

    How can i tell how much ink i have left in my printer?
    on the bottom right of the screen there is those little buttons on the toolbar. one of them will beyour printer. hover over it and click it. it should show you its status and ink levels =P
    The computer usually tells you when you are low on ink when you go to print something.
    usually the printers have a software that tell you the ink level, otherwise by just looking at your prints
    type in the printers ip address into the address bar of the internet window, and press enter
    ask the printer.

    Usually after print a print job you should receive a popup which will show you the amount of ink remaining in the cartridge.

    1.Click on Start, Printers and Faxes.

    2.Right click on Printer icon.

    3.Click on Printing Preferences.

    4.Click on Services Tab.

    5.Click on Service this Device.

    6.Click on the Confguration Tab or Estimated Ink level.

    7.Select the checkmark at the option Display Ink status WIndow.

    Please ensure that the above provided steps are applicable only if you have installed full featured drivers for the printer.

    If the issue persists then I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers and then follow the steps provided.

  • Canon Pixma MP610 Printer - newly replaced ink cartridge is said to be empty?

    I have just replaced the large black ink cartridge in my Canon Pixma MP610 Printer using a refilled cartridge. So far it has been printing fine but when I check the current ink levels it shows me a red circle with a white ';x'; over the large black ink cartridge to indicate that it has run out of ink. I have since tried cleanning it and running a nozzle cleaning with no luck. When I ran a nozzle check pattern it looked good but still the level readings indicate the cartridge is empty.Canon Pixma MP610 Printer - newly replaced ink cartridge is said to be empty?
    It will not read full with refills. You have chipped cartridges and as such the printer needs a new chip to tell it there is ink. It will still print but it will NEVER re-set the ink levels - I have the same model.

    You can buy a chip re-setter that will re-programme the chip to read full which is what I do. In the link below is what you need to look for as this from UK site and it's a marvellous thing. I have used mine over and over. I have not bought a new cartridge in 6 months because of it.

    To prevent the printer showing ';no inks'; or “not recognize” when installing these compatible cartridges, please try to follow these instructions below:

    1) Turn on the printer; take out the old used cartridges

    2) Turn off the printer for a few minutes

    3) Turn on the printer, when it says ';insert inks';, and then insert the compatible cartridges one by one, making sure the cartridges are sitting completely in the slots.

    Please shake the cartridges and use the alcohol cloth to clean the cartridge head.

    Hope you can use your printer very soon!

    Please help, My printer/fax black ink suddenly stopped working?

    hello and thank you for reading this. answers and opinions/ ideas are much appreciated, thanks in advance.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~鈥?br>
    anyhow, hi, im Carlie and my family owns a printer/fax machine.
    the exact model is: MFC - 465CN
    one night i was printing out pictures for a friend, and the next day the black ink stopped working :( the printer i have is also a fax and copy machine. but it wont pick up the black ink on anything, like it wont receive black ink when i copy something, or when i try to print something, it comes out blank.
    things i have tried:
    - replacing the ink (yes i made sure it was the right brand and everything)
    - i cleaned the ink cartridge
    - i made sure it want clogged
    basically little things.
    i dont know what else to do! its like it just broke and i cant afford and entirely new one, plus we dont have it on warranty anymore.
    has this happened to anyone?
    what do i do?
    the model of my printer/fax/copier is: MFC - 465CN
    it is from a company called 'brother'
    help me please!!
    thank youPlease help, My printer/fax black ink suddenly stopped working?
    This is what the brother web site says which I believe you have done.
    I suggest you contact them direct.
    To verify the ink cartridges are installed correctly follow the steps listed below:
    Open the ink cartridge cover and reinstall the ink cartridge. Open each lock release lever and push it until it clicks, and then close the ink cartridge cover.
    The LCD may then display:
    Did you change xxxxxx? Yes No.
    The LCD may display this question for the color(s) that was replaced.
    Select Yes or No by pressing arrow keys or 1/2 or ';+/-'; .
    After all the correct selections are made, the machine will then go into a cleaning.
    The machine should begin cleaning automatically, and the LCD will alternately show ';CLEANING'; and ';PLEASE WAIT';. When the machine completes its cleaning cycle, the LCD will go back to standby mode automatically. Print the Print Quality Check Sheet and see if all colors are present:
    Press the Ink or Ink Management key.
    Use the up or down navigation key to select Test Print.
    Press OK to confirm your choice.
    Use the up or down navigation key to select Print Quality.
    Press OK to confirm your choice. Press the Color(Colour) key to print the Test Sheet.
    If one or more of the colors is still missing from the printed page, cleaning the print head may resolve this problem. When cleaning the print head, you are given the option to clean BLACK ONLY, one of the three colors (CYAN, YELLOW, or MAGENTA), or all four colors at once. For this issue we recommend cleaning only the affected color. If more than one color is missing then select ALL.
    Is it my printer or the ink cartridge?
    I have a lexmark x1270 printer. It has sat unused for an entire year, until one day i needed to use it again. Once i turned it on the ink wasn't coming out. So after some online searching, i read about the cartridges being blocked, so i placed them in hot water and then put them back in my printer. They then worked, for about half a page, before stopping about. I have used the built in cleaner, which didn't do anything. Now after much searching, i have found that the hot water solution has worked for a lot of people, except me.
    So do you think it is the cartridge itself or the printer? The cartridge is about 1/5 full, so i am going to purchase a new cartridge, i just don't want to buy one in case it is the printer. All sense says it is the cartridge. What do you think?Is it my printer or the ink cartridge?
    Yes I agree it will be the cartidge.
    After that amount of time un-used it will have got blocked for sure.
    You sould carry on soaking it - but I suggest cold water or the heat may make the ink hard anyway.
    There is not much that could go wrong with the printer due to sitting idle.Is it my printer or the ink cartridge?
    its the cartridge for sure especially if you bought an off brand or recycled cartridge. ive tried those types and they either dont work or they just run out real quick. also the cartridge sitting for that long unused definitely needs to be replaced. just the printer sitting around shouldnt effect the performance. but yah there are printers that come with ink actually reasonably priced compared to just buying the cartridge if you dont think its the problem
    I would say that it is the ink cartridge. When a printer sits that long not being used then the ink will dry up and it is hard to get it going agian. I would try buying a new ink cartridge I do believe that will do the trick. Hope this helps. Good luck.
    You need a net printer cartridge...
    For a quick fix, take a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol and rub the holes for about 30 seconds before each print but other then that... The ink has settled and you need a new cartridge.
    90% chances are that the culprit is the cartridge itself.
    They get desiccate quickly.
    So get it refilled first and then think of buying new one.
    Replace the cartridge.
    Sounds like the cartridge needs to be replaced.
    It's the cartridge. replace it with a new one.
    Yeah I have a Lexmark printer too. I plan on never buying another one again. I think your cartridges are probably clogged or dried out. I would just keep printing and printing and they should get better. Use the print test page, alignment page and cleaning that your printer has built in. If you think you are out of ink then go and get them refilled at either Cartridge World (http://www.cartridgeworldusa.com) or Walgreen's (http://www.walgreens.com/dmi/inkrefill/d鈥?/a> for half the price of getting a new one. This happened to me and after printing many many times they were back to normal but i was positive my cartridges had ink in them.
    Why is my printer saying my ink is empty when it's full?
    i have a cannon IP3300 PIXMA printer and i have been using it just fine until i replaced the black ink.. now the yellow one is ';empty'; but it is full! i get an error that reads
    Error Number: 1413
    Ink Tank Errors have occured
    open the printers cover and replace the ink tanks on which ink lamps are off.
    since it is full i take it out and put it back in again and the red light comes on. i close the lid and then i get the error againa nd when i open the lid the light is off again.
    my printer wont let me print if i am out of a certian colour of ink so i really want to fix this problem. i know for sure it is the right ink i put in and it worked before!
    i'm using a mac so if there is a setting i can change so i dont get this message anymore please leave instructions for a mac!
    thanksWhy is my printer saying my ink is empty when it's full?
    You could try shaking the cartridge. The way some printers determine the amount of ink is through something in the cartridge which floats on the ink. WHen it hits the bottom, the ink is determined to be empty. Sometimes it hits the bottom for no reason at all. Turning the cartridge over and shaking it can move it back to the top. But some cartridges ';self destruct'; the chip when it reaches empty and this will have no effect. Good luck.
    Why is my printer saying my ink is empty when it's full?
    Is there ink in the front chamber of the cartridge?
    If the answer is no the cartridge is indeed empty.
    UNfortunately there is no way to force the printer to print outside of replacing that yellow. If you do have a yellow cartridge which is reading as empty and there is still plenty of ink in the front clear plastic chamber take it back to here you purchased it, the cartridge is defective.
    Just a wild guess here. Sometimes the print cartridges have label or sticker to peel off just prior to installation. Since your problem arrived with the new cartridge, maybe maybe.
    Ok it can be your firmware. What is firmware? Well it runs your device (printer). It tells your hardware how to work. It is possible HP messed up and you have a bad version of firmware. Goto the HP website and check for firmware update. Try to apply the newest firmware to your printer.
    You can also try to COLD reset your printer. Unplug the power from your printer. Remove all your ink. Plug in your power and hold down the OK button. Let the printer startup and complain about no ink. Release the OK button. Turn off the printer using the power button. Put the ink back in. Power up the printer using your power button.
    The electrical contacts inside the printer may have become contaminated with ink, preventing a good connection. Try removing the ink cartridges and cleaning the contacts (both in the printer and on the cartridge) with a foam swab moistened with alcohol. Try to avoid using cotton swabs, because they can leave fibers inside the printer that may cause problems.
    Silly question, but I have to ask - you *did* remove the protective strips from the cartridges before you installed them, right? %26lt;G%26gt;
    when the printer runs out of ink, you must do more then just replace the ink in the printer. for example takeout the empty cartridge and replace it with a full one and then close the printer cover hoping that it will work you must also use the printer software program as well.
    Click on Start.
    Click on printer and fax's.
    Click on your printer Icon.
    Right click and choose printing preference's.
    Choose the tab maintenance.
    choose the option that says ';Ink Cartridge Replacement';.
    once this opens just follow the on screen instructions to replace the ink.
    when you have done this the computer will now till the printer that the ink has been replaced and you wont get the message saying that you need to replace the ink cartridge.
    good luck
    are you plugging in those cartridges right?
    anyway, hp has good support. you can go on their site and chat with them... or call them. For urgent matter, dont try to fix it, but spend the time to look for a person/place where you can print your invitations.. today.
    This seems to work for a lot of differenet PIXMAs. If the absorber is actually full and it's not lying to you, then you might actually have to do something to it. You can dig around those forums because I think I've seen discussions on that in the past.
  • I just put new color ink in my printer,but only the blue shows why??
    If the cartridge is old, the red and yellow color jets may be clogged. Get a coffe cup, about half an inch of water and heat it in the microwave until steaming. Remove cup from microwave and place the print cartridge in it jets down. In about 30 seconds you should be able to remove the cartridge and dab it with a paper towel and see all the colors coming out. Once dry, replace into your printer.
    Probably one of two things:
    If you didn't use a genuine HP cartridge, they're putting controls in now that annoy you until you use their brand.
    Secondly, you may have a bad sensor. Try cleaning everything you can see with some alcohol and a swab.
    My Canon-MP600 All-in-One printer only uses the PGI-5BK Ink and not the cli-8bk Ink?
    Title has to basically do with the same thing....I have a cannon all in one printer (MP600) and it has 2 black ink tanks..
    Problem I have is that it only uses ONE of those ink tanks the PGI-5BK and not the other cli-8bk ink
    Anybody know how to fix this? Because my cli-8bk ink is full and my PGI-5Bk keeps continously running out..and its making me mad!My Canon-MP600 All-in-One printer only uses the PGI-5BK Ink and not the cli-8bk Ink?
    First person is correct. I have the MP610 so have the two black inks and my 5 goes while the 8 is full. The reason the printer has two black inks is because one is dye based (the 8) and the other pigment based (5) these have different functions. One is better for text and the other is better for graphics. That is why you use more of one more as you are probably printing out more of one sort of printout and so the other black is not needed for the job.
    http://www.oddparts.com/ink/faq19.htmMy Canon-MP600 All-in-One printer only uses the PGI-5BK Ink and not the cli-8bk Ink?
    PGI-5BK is for photo printing, CLI-8BK is for regular printing(black and white), so you can let the printer only print black and white papers, then it might work.
    I believe I have seen a way to trick the printer
    to use both cartridges by using different settings.
    Ink cartridge leak for printer?
    i dont remember exactly but im pretty sure i refilled my black ink for my printer and only used it for a few times before school ended. i havent used it for the whole summer, now that im bak in school i tried printing yesterday but it says its low on ink now. i opened the printer and checked the cartridges and it seems the black has leaked a little, just a little, not like its dripping. is that maybe the cause for the loss of ink? im think randomly but was it the summer's heat that caused it as well?Ink cartridge leak for printer?
    It's possible. Maybe the black cartridge is not refilled well and most of the ink is absorbed by the wastepad. Be careful if the wastepad is too moist to absorb any ink further.
  • I refilled my DELL SERIES 7 cartridge, I know it's full but the printer still says low ink, how can I fix this?
    Never had a Dell but most other makes of printer don't show ink levers as full on refilled cartridges so I would think Dell are the same. On some makes, like Epson and Canon, that have chipped cartidges you can buy a chip re-setter that allows it to fool printer into thinking it has had new cartridge installed when it hasn't. Others you can overide manual to still print but it still wont reset ink levels. If it prints then be lucky as a lot of the newer printers being made are made so that they wont even print with either refilled of compatibles let alone show ink levels.
    Your printer may not recognize the correct ink levels because it is holding the memory from the previously used cartridges. However, a printer reset should resolve the recognition problem. To reset your printer please follow these instructions: 鈥?Remove ALL cartridges 鈥?Turn off printer 鈥?Unplug the printer from the power source for a full 5 minutes 鈥?Reverse steps.     Will the cannon inkjet printer print, if i replace ink absorber? As it says-ink absorber is FULL, cannot print?
    No it will not solve it on its own. The problem is the printer needs to be given a code to reset it when once the waste ink tank full message appears and the waste tank has been replaced. Without resetting it it still will not print. Each model will have a separate code and that is why the message usually says to call for a service. They will not give you the code as there is good money in it for them to do it themselves. There are some models' codes on the Internet but as you did not state the model I could not try to find one that would help. Without the reset I am afraid it will not budge.
    That is the waste pad basically. It just a felt sponge that sits right underneath the priting mech. You need to reset that 'felt pad' counter. I don't exactly know how to do it for a Canon printer, but I know how to do it for an Epson printer. You may want to research on Google for
  • Help! my printer keeps aligning ink cartridge!!?
    i just bought a lexmark x2480 the other day.
    when i put the ink in it said allign ink cartridge when i tried to print something.
    so i let it print the alignment. then i scanned the allingnment.
    after that i tried to print off some writing i'd saved previously.
    when i said 'print' it ended up printing the alignment all over again. so frustrating! it's done this 15 times now and i am still waiting for it to work! the scanner works alright, but the printer just doesn't.
    please help me!!
    i will give you a 'best answer'!Help! my printer keeps aligning ink cartridge!!?
    you can do few. things take it back to where you brought it from , 2nd call the printer company and they can guide you through the exact steps, the last thing is try online, , you wont belive how many other might be having the same problems with the same printer.uninstall the printer and reinstall it, check ot see if you have the latest drivers.Help! my printer keeps aligning ink cartridge!!?
    Please follow exactly and IN ORDER.
    1. Turn off the printer and wait 10 seconds. Turn it on again
    2. Let the printer print the test page.
    3. After the test page is printed, disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer to your computer. DO NOT turn off the printer while disconnecting the USB cable.
    4. Place the test page on the scanner glass and press the SCAN button on the printer. The ON light will flash as the page is being scanned.
    5. Remove the test page when the ON light is steady.
    6. Finally, turn off the printer and wait another 10 seconds. Then turn it on again. No more printing test pages! Yay!
    (You may now reconnect the printer to your computer via the USB cable.)
    the process for aligning an ink cartridge is usually
    Print the test page.
    Ask the user if its OK.
    If not, adjust and print it again.
    Is there a dialog box still open asking you if the alignment is good?
    why would you scan the alignment anyway?
    I have a hp printer model 2575 the black ink leaks only when it is on. is it worth fixing or buy a new one?
    As I know, HP inks include the head. So you can just try to replace the ink cartridge and see if it still leaks. If that's not the case, buy a new one. The price for a new printer is cheaper than having it fix unless your printer cost you an arm and a leg.I have a hp printer model 2575 the black ink leaks only when it is on. is it worth fixing or buy a new one?
    Depends on how much it will cost to fix it. I see on amazon you can get a new one for $131 so you will have to determine if you want to spend any kind of money at all on it. You could still keep it and use the scanner portion of the printer if you felt like it and just get an inexpensive printer..I have a hp printer model 2575 the black ink leaks only when it is on. is it worth fixing or buy a new one?
    buy a new one!!
    Are you using the proper cartridges?
    If you are using HP brand cartridges, and have never refilled them, HP will likely replace/repair/clean your printer for free. Cartridges have their own warranty, and if they damage your printer, you're covered. Not always, but often.
    Call them at 1-800-474-6836 (North America) and see what they say. The worst that can happen is they say no.
    My printer isn't recognizing my ink cartridge?
    I have an Epson C66 printer, and I went to buy a new cartridge at Staples. The guy there talked me into buying a Staples brand cartridge that he said would work exactly the same as an Epson one with only a third of the price. I put it in my printer and it says my black ink is filled now, but when I print still no black ink shows up!
    Any ideas?
    (I've tried calling the customer support, it was useless)My printer isn't recognizing my ink cartridge?
    The new cart may be dried up .
    take a look at the part that lets the ink come out and see if any ink comes off on your fingers .If it does than it is defective. If no ink is present then the cart is dried up. try shaking it and try a damp rag on the print heads. If nothing works , take it back and buy the regular brand.My printer isn't recognizing my ink cartridge?
    Did you forget to remove the plastic tape strip across the printhead?
    Did you run your printer's head cleaning operation at least a few times?
    Perhaps some ink has dried, clogging the jets?
    My kids keep using up my print catridges and running up my ink bill. Can I set a password on my printer?
    My parents always take out the catridge when we're not using it for something important. For awhile, my little sisters were printing out pictures of cartoon characters, but now we only use the ink for school work. Good luck!My kids keep using up my print catridges and running up my ink bill. Can I set a password on my printer?
    My brother did this to me on my NEW printer when he came to town to visit. I had brand new ink cartridges in it and in a matter of days they were empty!
    I tried disconnecting the printer by way of settings in control panel, but it wasn't long before he figured out how to get in there and reset it (which I'm guessing your kids will also be able to figure out).
    I wound up having to physically unplug the printer from the back of the PC. With all of the wires behind my desk, he didn't take the time to figure out which was which. To play it totally safe you could always completely remove the printer cable and bring it out when you need it for yourself, assuming you don't really print that often.
    It's a real pain, I know. But in the case of my brother, no amount of talking to him was going to change things.My kids keep using up my print catridges and running up my ink bill. Can I set a password on my printer?
    Start Charging Them For Each Page They Print.
    If you are running XP, make a kids account and do not have the printer installed for them to use. That would be the easiest way I know of
    Gave up worrying about cost of printing when i found ';Continuous Ink System';... My ink costs me 拢20.00 for 600ml, equivalent to 90 + Epson cartridges
    I don't know of any way to set a password on the printer, but you can set a password on the PC itself.
    If they will not accept a reasonable limit of time on the PC, paper and ink, no PC.
    Where do you get your ink? I've been going to 1-inkjet.com and using generic brands. Also, we have stores here that will refill cartridges for a nominal fee, allow for returned empty cartridges, and sell refill kits if you want to go that route.
    Disable the printer using the option and enable when you yourself need it!
    I understand the desire to keep the kids from using all the ink up but wouldn't it be better to sit the kids down and just explain the situation to them and have them be part of the solution rather than having to stop them from using the printer? I mean to say that by working as a unit you may find you'll have a better understanding of the costs as a family. Just a suggestion.
    It is pretty simple to install a kill switch in the power line going to the printer. If you have smart kids, they will eventually figure it out.
    i dont think so :/
    you can make it only available from a certain time tho if you want.....so when the kids are home from school they can't print but that probably won't be the most convinent way to do things
    Your printer may not recognize the correct ink levels because it is holding the memory from the previously used cartridges. However, a printer reset should resolve the recognition problem. To reset your printer please follow these instructions: 鈥?Remove ALL cartridges 鈥?Turn off printer 鈥?Unplug the printer from the power source for a full 5 minutes 鈥?Reverse steps. Plug back in, turn on printer and install all cartridgesI have filled my ink cartridge for hpc3180 printer but its saying my ink levels are low?
    if you refill cartridges yourself many brands of printer will read them as low or empty, as they have a small chip in them which determines how much ink has been used. sometimes non-branded cartridges do this too. this may not be a problem -you could carry on using the printer and you will be able to see by the quality of printout when the cartridge runs out. my printer however (its an epson) just stops printing when the ink levels show as too low so i can only use new cartridges.
    Even shop bought refills don't always show true ink levels. What I do after I have had them a while,especially if they ';play'; up more than once, I just replace them. If you Google something like how to reset HP ink cartridges and follow that. It works I have done it
    it will not register,
    the ink cartridge chip has not been reprogrammed to tell it that it is full.
    you can not do this yourself.
    it will be ok just keep using it.
    but don't let it run out completely.
    Do the modern HP printers support 3rd party ink?
    About to buy a printer... My brother has warned me that most printer companies have created ink systems that don't allow for knock-off cartridges to be used. Is that true?Do the modern HP printers support 3rd party ink?
    Some do.
    The biggest issue you will encounter is a loss of ink level. However if you are not overly attached to your ink status monitor it is worth the saving.
    The ones which you will encounter the greatest issues with are printers which take the HP 02 cartridges. THere are a lot of 3rd party chips on the market which do not register at all, so ink level loss across 6 cartridges with your printer shutting down when one is empty is a huge problem. However there are SOME on the market which work, however it is a guessing game.
    With the 2 cartridge systems you will be fine. Some of the newer HP's which take number 60, 74 and 75 cartridges are not yet available in a third party, however will be shortly.
    It is easy to get third party canon and brother cartridges, 3rd party brother cartridges work seamlessly, if you are looking for no headaches in a cartridge get a brother.
    However, if you can deal with the odd little loss of ink monitor, or your printer warning you constantly that you are out of ink get an HP or Canon.
    Desktop Printer question about ink cartdriges?
    I was just wondering. I have a Tri-Color Print Cartridge that's almost running out of ink, and it's not creating high quality pictures when I print with it. But it still has a enough ink left so that I can print color things in which I don't mind the quality too much. I do have another ink cartridge that is brand new, and I was wondering if it was possible that I open the new one, replace it, print out the high quality picture that I need, then take it out, put it in some aluminum foil, and replace the old one. Will that just dry out the new ink cartridge if I take it out and don't use it?
    I don't mean to sound cheap...but these ink cartridges are $80 each...and I'd like to conserve as much as possible.Desktop Printer question about ink cartdriges?
    You're playing with fire...
    If you have the type of printer where the print head in not part of the cartridge, you're burning out your print head with that dry cartridge. It's the ink running through the print heads that keeps them cool and functioning.
    If you have the type of printer where the print heads are part of the cartridge, you could still do damage. The print heads will melt and fry when not fed enough ink. This can cause short circuits that will fry the delicate electronics in your printer that control the ink flow.
    I've found through trial and error that always promptly replacing an empty cartridge with another one made by the printer's manufacturer may seem expensive, but you'll find yourself shopping for a printer far less often.Desktop Printer question about ink cartdriges?
    buy the substitute or remanufactured for a lower price or print them on someone else's printer or at a photo place.
    you can just switch the two catridges any time you want.
    Wrap the old cartridge in some cello, not foil, this should do the trick for you.
    yes you can but make sure you keep it in a air tight bag (zip lock) or it may dry out
    $80 each?! what kind of printer do you have?
    If you've got like a little gel pad or something, that would keep the old one moist. Otherwise I thnk it would dry out yes.
    We have had our share of ink problems too. If you open a package and don't use the ink at least once or twice per month, the darn thing dries up. We wasted $60 once on a brand new cartridge. We did not know it HAD to be used each month.
    My printer is printing as though I am low on ink, but i just changed the cartridge!?
    How can I make it do a printing cleaning?My printer is printing as though I am low on ink, but i just changed the cartridge!?
    Go into the printer's software and check to see if it knows you changed cartridges.
    Some printers will give you that message no matter what you do.
    Low on ink has nothing to do with a printhead cleaning. Reinstall the cartridge, check the software. Most of the time you do not have to worry about it.My printer is printing as though I am low on ink, but i just changed the cartridge!?
    You're right, it needs cleaning.
    Depending on the printer, the maintenance routines can be found on the printer's front panel or in the utilities that are installed with the printer. You might find that the heads need cleaning manually. Again, this depends on the printer so return here with the printer model and type.
    Go to the Properties of the printer and click printing perference and there u can find an option called service. Follow the instruction and it will solve the problem.
    Hope the infromation will be helpful to u.
    Printer and black ink problem?
    My dad has a kodak printer that worked just fine until he brought it home after my sister borrowed it. Every still works and prints correctly when its scanning a copy of printing kodak pictures except for printing from our computer. For some reason, it can't print black. It can print back ONLY when the printer is doing things by itself, not from the computer. There is nothing wrong with the ink carts. We tried many. Of course we tried the automatic cleaner tool on the printer and unplug all the cords many times. Nothings working when it comes to printing black. Is there a setting someone accidentally clicked on the computer or printer that makes this printer only print in color when we use the computer to print, or is the printer broken? (I don't know what my did with the computer.) Thank you!Printer and black ink problem?
    You didn't specify the make or model so it is pretty hard to guide you in the right direction.
    If it is a HP product, open the toolbox installed in the start menu and go in printer Services menu. Make sure that the 2-color cartridge mode is checked and not , the one-cartridge one. That should solve your problem.Printer and black ink problem?
    Have you checked the ';preferences'; on the printer software control screen (whatever it's called--menu--where you select number of copies, etc.). For my printer, not a Kodak, you can select using either color or black ink or both. I suggest you delete the software for the printer and reinstall the drivers, etc., using either the disk that came with the printer or going to the Kodak web site to upload for free what you need for the model of the printer. Have you checked the cartridges really carefully to make sure there isn't extra plastic covering just the part of the cart where the ink comes out. Good luck.
    I have a lexmark printer and I have the black ink cartdrige installed, but it won't print black, help?
    Whats the problem, its a new printer I just installed it and it only prints colored things. PLEASE HELP!I have a lexmark printer and I have the black ink cartdrige installed, but it won't print black, help?
    Is the port clogged for the black ink? Also I have bought brand new ink cartridges and they were bad (so wouldn't put out the ink) and returned them for a different one and that one worked fine. Try cleaning the heads/ports and if that doesn't take care of it, return the cartridge and for a new one/different one (that one may be no good). Also on the slim off chance, make sure it isn't in backwards. I do know someone who did that. She didn't know how to change one, as her husband had always done it. I had to show her how to put it in right.I have a lexmark printer and I have the black ink cartdrige installed, but it won't print black, help?
    Has it worked before? Some Lexmark only work on windows 98.
    Check to see if you have it in properly.
    Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, but have you removed the strip of tape on the cartridge? Well, it happened to me once!
    Did you forget to remove the protective strip on the black cartridge?? Remove the black cartridge, turn printer off. Power it back on and wait for the printer to prompt you to install, that way you can have a reset detection of the cartridge. Also check your manual for only color to print, as well as your driver.
    Printer out of ink or problem?
    I have a hp deskjet 3322 printer. I've recently been trying to print out a paper and I can see that the ink is low. However, whenever the printer is out of ink it alerts me when trying to print. This time my paper is printing out only it's first page and the text is gray rather then black. Then it just spits out the other paper without any text. Should I just try refilling the ink or could this be another problem since it's not alerting me?Printer out of ink or problem?
    sounds like you're really out of ink (not just low -- you're completely out of ink).Printer out of ink or problem?
    I think you need a maintenance overhaul of your printer.
    (1) Take out all your ink cartridges and make sure they are filled
    (2) Take out your printer head and with a twin tip dipped in alcohol clean all the heads (round circles where the ink is heated and sprayed through to the paper.) Use one end of the tip to scour and the other end to wipe clean
    (3) Then go to control panel, then printers and faxes, then document, then to maintenance and cleaning (might have to look up you manual if you don't know how to get to the cleaning page.
    (4) Do ';deep cleaning'; four times
    Now reassemble your print head in place and put your cartridges back in place.
    (5) Now do a sample printout which shows how each color is responding. Each bar has a different color and they should all be equal.
    You should be getting a full printout by now unless there is something more serious.
    Sadly the computer stores NEVER help you with printing problems. Every machine in the world needs periodic maintenance, just like your car. But the computer stores would rather sell you a new printer.
    Mine is 5 years old and I constantly perform the above tasks on mine and it runs like the day I bought it.
    Hope this helps. Good luck.
    Answer me this? Where does one get a printer that prints white?
    I had this same problem once it was because of a faulty cartridge.
    Couldn't that be because it's out of ink?
    Pity is that you didn't specify the Printer make and model and the Computer system Configuration and the OS you are operating on, because that would have helped me to give you the steps with which you could check for the level of ink in your cartridges.
    However, generally, any color printer begins to print color in black and white only when the color cartridge is out of ink.
    May I suggest that you have the supplier have a look at it, or, call him on the phone and specify the Printer make and model, your OS and he'll help you find the level of ink in the cartridge so that you can opt for a purchase from him.
    Cheers
    go to control panel and go to the printers.select the prefrences and dig through them (and the properties) to see if anything will affect color. or try changing the color cartridge. maybe its empty.
    The colored ink often runs out before the black and white. Pictures you print use an enormous amount of colored ink. Insert a new colored cartridge and problem solved.
    Check the printing preference by righ clicking on the printer icon in the control panel. Make sure the box under ';greyscale printing'; is unchecked.
    Thats if you are using windows.
    Sometimes you can set your printer to print just in black and white, to save on the more expensive color cartridges. If you are only printing a letter or a document, no need to use color. It depends on what brand of printer you have, to change it back to use all colors, hit the color button on the top of the printer. Mine is an epson, so yours might be in a different spot..
    if you just put in the color ink cartrage did you pull off the tape from it? That will make it not be colored.
    are you out of color ink?
    you can take the cartride out look at the surface of it and clean it with a tissue paper ,,,My printer is printing as though I am low on ink, but I am not. What gives?
    Most inkjet printers have a printer head/nozzle cleaning option in there properties dialogue. Right-click on your printer and select properties. Within this window somewhere you should have an option to clean the nozzle or something close to that. Try that. If the ink has had a chance to dry on the head you may be out of luck. You'll need to purchase a new cartridge. To prevent this from happening in the future. Print something out once a week or so. This exercises the cartridge and keeps it fresh. Good luck!
    cartridge and recycle or discard it.
    5 Take the new print cartridge out of its package.
    6 Grasp the pink tab and gently peel off the plastic tape.
    Make sure you remove only the clear tape from the nozzles
    and leave the copper contacts.
    Do NOT touch the ink nozzles or the copper
    contacts. Touching these parts may cause print
    cartridge failure.
    7 Insert the print cartridge:
    鈥?Hold the print cartridge so that the copper contacts will
    go into the printer first. Line up the ridges on the left
    and right sides of the top of the print cartridge with the
    grooves on the inside of the print cartridge cradle.
    Carefully slide the print cartridge into the cradle, then
    firmly push the cartridge in until it stops.
    鈥?Lower the cradle latch. Place your finger on the top of
    the latch. Place your thumb under the number on the
    latch and hold it forward while pushing the latch down.
    Release the latch to lock the print cartridge into place.
    8 Close the top cover.
    Printer print white ink?
    I have a black and white cartridge and a colored one, and I want this picture in color, but I'm going to cut off some of it, so I use paint and erase the parts I don't want, but when i save it, it's still a square (now with white where I erased/colored white), so I'm asking when I print it, does the printer use white ink (in the color cartridge) to fill in the white because it is part of the picture??Printer print white ink?
    You really don't have a black and white cartridge. You have a black ink cartridge and a tri-color cartridge that has Cyan, Magenta and Yellow for colors. When you print on white paper, anything that is white in the picture will be left blank on the paper and thus is white, no ink is applied in white areas. I am currently not aware of any white ink cartridges available for printers as there is probably not a significant market for them to make it profitable. When you print any pictures that require color the printer mixes the existing colors together to obtain the various other colors and shades that are required other than white.
    Hope that explains it well enough.
    It could either be dryed out, or you may have one of those expiring cartridges. It will actually expire after a certain date and it will be impossible to fill and make them work.
    Buying new is the only way to go.I have a dell printer and I refilled the ink cartridges, but It still says ink low and it wont let me print.?
    you've probably got some old ink that has dried up and is blocking the hole in the bottom of the ink cartridge. or ink has dried and is blocking the jets of your printer or some other vital part. if you can get that cleared up it should work good as new. good luck.........
    You should have recieved a cd with your printer. Install the software and readup on the help menu on how to reset the cartridge with a new one. This is a software change that needs to be modified. Software can also be downloaded from \support\dell.com.
    An eaiser way is to uninstall the printer software through add/remove programs, restart computer and reinstall and reconnect your printer. This works everytime for me.
    i ahve a hp deskjet D1341... the ink and color ink is good i just replaced them... any suggestionsMy printer keeps printing out pages that are pinki have replaced the ink cartige but the problem persist.idea?
    Every time you replaced a cardtrige is good to use their own maintenace program, then run their Clean,aligned program, but some time they has acumulated so much grease, and you has to you use some chemicals like alcohol, or the spray starup from card engines or women nail cleaner, spray work for thenselves the other ones you dipped in into cotton ear cleaner and brushed into the cardtriges receivers in the printer, this will sound as a joke but it happen some people do not see the scotch tape(clear) that is it protected the cardtridges trough delivery.My printer keeps printing out pages that are pinki have replaced the ink cartige but the problem persist.idea?
    Go to printers/properties/maintenance and run the tests, cleaning etc.
    I'm looking for a printer that prints with raised ink.?
    I'm looking for a ';raised ink printer'; for printing invitations, tickets and such. Do all thermal printers print with raised ink? The minimum print size should be 8.5';x14';. If anyone knows of any, I'd appreciate your help! Thank you.I'm looking for a printer that prints with raised ink.?
    The closest thing you are going to get in a raised ink printer (short of buying a printing press) is to get a solid state ink printer like a xerox phaser.
    I have HPC6180 printer - Why do I receive error message that my cartridge is out of ink?
    This message keeps coming up for Cyan cartridge, but by all indications in the Basic Guide book it was done properly. How can I get rid of this annoying message?I have HPC6180 printer - Why do I receive error message that my cartridge is out of ink?
    Did you power off and on after you re-seat the cartridges? restart the PC too.
