I havent used my printer in a while and now the black ink barely prints on paper it isnt empty.?

is there a way to prime the ink back or somethingI havent used my printer in a while and now the black ink barely prints on paper it isnt empty.?
Remove your Black cartridge from printer.

Hold under ';Hot'; tap-water; let the water get fairly hot, then hold printhead {only} in running water for 7 to 10 seconds.

If necessary, do this 3-4 times.

With printhead facing down, use a paper towel - firmly hold printhead onto paper towel - ink should ';wick'; onto towel.

Do not ';Wipe'; printhead with paper towel; would probably result in damage to the printhead.

If you visabily see ink on towel, re-try cartridge in printer.

If not, using a pan, mix ~ 50% Ammonia / 50% Water; heat until is is steaming, but not boiling - hold printhead in solution for ~ 10 seconds, then use paper towel.

If all else fails, try using 50% alcohol %26amp; 50% water - alcohol may damage or destroy you're printhead.

Good Luck,

Ken C.

I assume the print head is blocked if it is a bubble jet you could try running the print utility or cleaning the print nozzles in cloudy ammonia if your print cartridge is micro chipped your best bet is to run the print nozzle check failing that replace the cartridge
it is empty or dried up. Some ppl say if you leave power on to printer is keeps ink jet warm and prevents this? Either way get it re inked they cheaper than new

  • Is paper that has been written on or has printer or pen ink on safe for rats?

I am trying to cut paper into small pieces quickly to at least half fill a ten gallon aquarium for my rats to play in, because I have heard they love it. I got some clean white paper that I am trying to cut into very small pieces (Taking forever as I don't have a paper shredder) but I am pretty sure my mom will complain about this and possibly dump it. ( I will try to take to school and recycle when done with it but probably not as it will have to be dirty before I am done with it, with poop or pee or just rotting or something) So, I thought I might cut up used paper or something. But I know with newspaper you should only use soy based ink (not that I know how to check if it has soy based ink or not) and I am pretty sure I shouldn't use that, but would it be okay for this? Or if it just has pencil on it? or notebook paper, or printer paper?

Please help. Oh, and if you know, do you think this is safe to do in the first place, I think that the paper would be sharp and poke them, maybe even in the eye, so I am not completely sure On this. Sure, there is newspaper, but I am not sure on that.Is paper that has been written on or has printer or pen ink on safe for rats?
Actually, I used shredded toilet paper! I have hamsters that love digging in the shoebox full of it. People use index cards for birds, so I guess clean paper is ok...Is paper that has been written on or has printer or pen ink on safe for rats?
Yeah, i'd be worried about them getting poked with the edges too. I've always used newspaper, though I rarely keep my rats in cages.
You can buy a bag of soft paper stuff from pet stores for about 拢2/$4, wouldnt that be cheaper and a lot easier?
it may hurt them with the writing on it, because if they eat paper with ink or led on it, they could get sick.
I use ripped up toilet paper and newspaper for my rat and she loves it.. im sure as a pet lover like i am getting a bit worried about if there going to poke there eye(s) on the paper but remember rats are really intelligent and know were the sharp corners are as they move it themselves to make there bed...i also agree with one person who said buy the ready shredded paper from the pet shop. As that is basically made for there beds.

i would use cotton wool balls, shredded newspaper.toilet paper and recycled paper and also the shredded paper from the pet shop to make there lives all comfy and nice for them..as well as using sawdust...they do deserve the best comfort in life.

    hope this helps!

How do you change the ink in a printer?

i hve an hp 5610v all in oneHow do you change the ink in a printer?
If you have the manual that came with it, the instructions will be listed in there to show you how to change it out. Also there are usually instructions on the inside of the printer that will explain it to you in graphical detail. Otherwise you will probably find your answer at the site listed below. How do you change the ink in a printer?
    RTFM
There should be instruction on the inside of the manual book or possibly on your computer printer program, or may be inside the actual printer which sometimes are posted right on the surface inside printers. Good luck.
When you have questions like this, its always best to check your documentation or visit your manufacturer's website for product specific help. :)

I have a HP printer. I use HP INK # 56 for black and # 57 for color.?

What is your experiences with re-filling the old cartridges with ink at Office Depot, Staples, Office Max etc..etc...

    Is it messy?

Is it worth it?I have a HP printer. I use HP INK # 56 for black and # 57 for color.?
Yes it is worth it. I recommend it.I have a HP printer. I use HP INK # 56 for black and # 57 for color.?
I have 20 years of cartridge refill experience and made a living doing it, not sure I never bought ink from a store, I bought it by the gallon through my supplier, yes it is messy at first but take your time and do it over a garbage can, yes it is worth it, you do save up to 70% on the price of the cartridge, I think the cartridge yeild is about 400 pages that is by memory I will be close, the only thing to watch for is how much ink you put in the cartridge, go slow, and when it starts to come out the top, suck back 1cc of ink, clean the cartridge with ONLY 99% isopropyl alcohol of any ink, clean the contact board on the back of the cartridge with the alcohol and a few Q tips, when you do this make sure you turn the Q tip sideways and don't rub to hard, always keep the Q tip clean, when you change Q tips always dip into the alcohol, it is a good idea to put the cap back on the alcohol it does evapourate quite rapidly, hope ths helped and good luck.
I have refilled my hp cartridges many times and it can be messy the secret seems to be to refill them before they get completely empty and do'nt put too much ink in
You just leave the cartridge at the store, they refill it for you, you pick it up later. Right now (Jan. 13-19) Walgreen's will do the refills for $5 (both black and color). Normally they're $10 for the black and $15 for the color. Heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new cartridge! (I also use the #56 and #57)

there are some good refill kits or bulk ink system online

To be honest, you need to stick to a commercially known supplier that sells quality ink. InkRepublic.com and InkSupply.com are by far the most known Bulk Ink System and Refill suppliers.

    Here is the C88 system.

Good Luck.Where can i find an ink refill for epson stylus C88 printer?
I have a CX3810 (which uses the same cartridges). My father has the C88.

Never use refills. They are messy and risky. Read http://ccs-digital.com/refills.html for more info. How much will a refill save anyway? You can buy brand new compatible cartridges for about $2 each at http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp
Just go to a computer shop :P
