Hp 550 printer won't print in color; ink cartridge is full?

Both the black %26amp; color ink cartridges are full, but it'll only print in black, no matter what I do. Is there an option I'm missing?


I'm trying to print a Word document with some of the font in color.


If it helps, I have an hp laptop as well

The print heads on the printer are probably blocked. Run the printers head-cleaning cycle a few times and see if it helps.





If it doesn't work, one of the following things might.


Soak the print head in hot water then leave it overnight, then try it again


Buy some Isopropyl Alcohol and soak the printhead in that overnight.


Each time you try a cleaning method, use a damp paper towel to gently wipe and dry the print head area.


Put a teaspoon of water in the bottom of the empty cartridge and try the cleaning cycle a few times.
