The orignal inks have ran out and 3rd party inks have been bought to replace them, i dont wanna hear you should stick to orignals, heard it all before. what i wanna know is is there something you have to do before installing 3rd party inks into the R300 or should they just work?? cheers.Does a Epson Style Life R300 printer take 3rd party ink cartridges?
I've been using the cheapies for a long while with my epson R300
%26amp; they are fine, ........................................
though I think I remember in the very begining having a problem getting the d**ned thing to accept them.
kept coming up with something like ';not acceptable format, refere to owners manual %26amp; use only Epson etc etc.
I was told at the time, to ignore it, %26amp; to just keep going with the installation, took a couple of goes, but then ';VOILA';......it was fine, %26amp; it accepts them with no problems all the time now......%26amp; its NEVER caused any printer problems as they try %26amp; con you into thinking, so you'll only buy the Epson ones at a MUCH inflated price
Good Luck,Does a Epson Style Life R300 printer take 3rd party ink cartridges?
I think they should just work. I use third party stuff on my HP all the time. Also reload my own cartridges. So, yeah, it works. The hitch on my HP (and maybe on your Epson) is that the maker does some trick to the factory cartridges to allow the printer to identify them. When I use non-HP cartridges or my own re-loads, the printer complains a little and won't tell me the ink level any more. Techno-pouting. I don't let it bother me. I get my refill supplies from VAMEX. Never a problem. Can be messy, but be careful and it all works out OK. Forget the hype from the corporate sales department.
Yes you can and it does not effect your printer at all, sometimes the colours are not as good if you do a lot of photo printing with 3rd prty inks.
I've got a R220 and they work fine in mine.
So go ahead and enjoy.
Happy Easter.
Firstly I know you have heard it all before, however make sure you are buying from a reputable company, one that guarantees their product. There is usually a vent cover that needs to be removed.
That is really all that is needed. Upon installation you always want to run a print head cleaning and alignment/ That process will ensure the cartridge is printing to your satisfaction. Run a print head cleaning about every three weeks, especially if you are not a heavy user.
There is a high failure rate with compatible chips so you will want to make sure the company has a good return policy just incase the cartridge does not recognize. You will often get a warning that says that you have not installed an epson product would you like to continue printing, Just click OK.
If you do have excessive problesms with a cartige like clogging, or blockages it is best to switch back to the OEM cartirdge until the problem is remedied.
There is nothing you have to do they will just work. However BEWARE as I too had a R300 using cheap inks and they completely knacked my printer which was only a few months old. Epsom do not want to know as I have, according to them invalidated my warranty.
