Does the dpi that my printer is set to affect how much ink is used to print something? If so, what dpi setting will save me the most ink?Printer Resolution and Saving Ink?
yes it does. Also try setting your print driver to black and white only, and in draft mode. When you get ready to print a final copy, then crank it up. The major downside is the printer will print faster in this mode, but if faster printing is not a problem, then go for it. remember ... the ink you save may be your own :-)Printer Resolution and Saving Ink?
It is best set at 600 dpi. It also helps if you go to normal print instead of best print, when it asks for the quality you want it to print your pictures. Also, lowering the megapixels.
the more dpi's (dots per inch) you set it for, the more ink it will use...so it follows that the lower the dpi you set it at, the less ink it will use......but with lower dot per inch, you lose quality....600 dpi is a good balance
i would suggest turn on the printer and press Ctrl+P and have alook round at the settings at preferences
