Printer issues! black ink not working

I replaced my printer catridges yesterday. but when trying to print black ink will not work although grey ink will. ive tried using troubleshooting but that didn't help. what could be the issue and how do i solve it ?Printer issues! black ink not working
well it could just be a damage ink cartridge try replacing it and then see if its the same problem if so contact the printer company, the should be able to help you Printer issues! black ink not working
This depends on what printer you have. If you have a printer that has the tricolor plus black ink cartridge then you get a new printhead with each cartridge, If you have a printer that requires individual ink cartridges, then you have a fixed printhead. If you were out of ink for any length of time or if you are using refilled/remanufactured ink cartridges, you may have a clogged printhead. Try running 2-3 head cleanings and then run a nozzle check/test page, to verify if any ink is getting through the printhead. It may take several head cleanings to get it completely clean.
Take the black cartridge out, make sure you took the plastic protective cover off the ink heads (seems obvious, but it happens a lot). Shake the cartridge a bit and wipe the ink heads off with a piece of tissue. If none of those things help, contact the company and let them know that their cartridge was defective or go back to the store where you bought it and tell them that it doesn't work and you would lke a replacement. Most stores will test the cartage and then replace it for you.

What model printer?

The possibilities which come to mind are:

you forgot to take the tape off the top of the cartridge

the cartridge is defective

your printer settings are on draft mode, which decreases the amount of black used

your black print head is partially blocked and needs several cleanings

Did you remember to pull the tape off the cartridge? If you did this, take the ink cartridge out and wipe it off with a dry paper towel.
