Ink is ink as long as the cartridge fits. You most likely can use a HP cartridge in a HP printer because it only fits in the one its made for. I take my empty ink cartridges to Walgreens and get it refilled--black is 10 dollars. Color is 15 dollars but the color doesnt always work. They wont charge you if it doesnt pass the test.
Most inks will work fine in most printers, I'm sure there is an exception. How do the printer companies make money, by selling ink. Printers are priced cheap so it's the cartridges where the money is. Get a CISS if available for your printer. http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store/


Can Walgreens have as many inks as there are printers, I doubt it.
HP is strictly for HP just as Lexmark is strictly for Lexmark
