The cartridges appear to be the same and are leftover from an old printer that died. However, I don't want to compromise the quality of photo printing. Are the inks different? Can I use Canon BCI-3e ink cartridges (in same colors) in a i960 printer, which takes the BCI-6 cartridges?
that cartridges are the exact same shape and size and will recognize in the printer, however the inks are a slightly different tone so there will be some compromise in terms of quality of print. Can I use Canon BCI-3e ink cartridges (in same colors) in a i960 printer, which takes the BCI-6 cartridges?
No, the printer won't recognize the cartridges, and will claim that you have not refilled it. I think they will fit, but you won't be able to print anthing.
Er, no. The BCI-3e is more or less, 3 models behind the BCI-6.
Chances are, the 3e cartridges don't even fit in your printer, and if they do, they probably dont work in the same way.
Better safe than sorry. Don't try them, you might wreck the printer.
