What is your experiences with re-filling the old cartridges with ink at Office Depot, Staples, Office Max etc..etc...

Is it messy?

Is it worth it?I have a HP printer. I use HP INK # 56 for black and # 57 for color.?
Yes it is worth it. I recommend it.I have a HP printer. I use HP INK # 56 for black and # 57 for color.?
I have 20 years of cartridge refill experience and made a living doing it, not sure I never bought ink from a store, I bought it by the gallon through my supplier, yes it is messy at first but take your time and do it over a garbage can, yes it is worth it, you do save up to 70% on the price of the cartridge, I think the cartridge yeild is about 400 pages that is by memory I will be close, the only thing to watch for is how much ink you put in the cartridge, go slow, and when it starts to come out the top, suck back 1cc of ink, clean the cartridge with ONLY 99% isopropyl alcohol of any ink, clean the contact board on the back of the cartridge with the alcohol and a few Q tips, when you do this make sure you turn the Q tip sideways and don't rub to hard, always keep the Q tip clean, when you change Q tips always dip into the alcohol, it is a good idea to put the cap back on the alcohol it does evapourate quite rapidly, hope ths helped and good luck.
I have refilled my hp cartridges many times and it can be messy the secret seems to be to refill them before they get completely empty and do'nt put too much ink in
You just leave the cartridge at the store, they refill it for you, you pick it up later. Right now (Jan. 13-19) Walgreen's will do the refills for $5 (both black and color). Normally they're $10 for the black and $15 for the color. Heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new cartridge! (I also use the #56 and #57)
