I heard of refilling systems, but I don't know if you need special printers or cartridges for that.Is there an alternative to expensive ink cartridges for printers?
Refills are dangerous. You can read the details here
http://ccs-digital.com/refills.html However you can save substantially with brand new compatible cartridges.
I recommend Epson cx series scanner/copier/printer (cx7400/cx8400) because of the print quality and the warranty. For a year Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. Ink cartridges are expensive, but you can get cheap replacements for $5 which work well here http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp
You can find the printers at buy.com, usually in the $60-$70 range BEFORE rebates, if any.Is there an alternative to expensive ink cartridges for printers?
Most printers come with cartridges that can be refilled either by you with a refill kit, or you can bring them to a Walgreens, Walmart, etc....and get them refilled. Black ink refills usually cost around $10 and color is $15 if you get them done at the store or a refill store (I know there are a couple ink refill stores in my area).
Also, most newer printers now are pretty good at making the cartridges more affordable - HP makes a great line of printers and all the color cartridges come separate so you're not buying or refilling a whole color cartridge if only 1 color runs out.
Most of the ink refill kits work with all printers now. You would just need to go to like Staples or Office Depot and see if they have a kit for your ink. I use to refill them myself, it works great.
Well yes u can refill the printer cartridges but u don't need any special printers or cartridges for that. take the cartridge to a shop where the refilling is done and get it refilled
Buy a laser printer. I replace a $200 cartridge every 3 or 4 years. It takes multiple _CASES_ of paper before I run out of toner.
Yes buy refill kit it works great hp for the black cartridge but after about 6 refills you will need to replace cartridge as the copper wears out and it will not print. They cost about $14.00
