Remove your Black cartridge from printer.
Hold under ';Hot'; tap-water; let the water get fairly hot, then hold printhead {only} in running water for 7 to 10 seconds.
If necessary, do this 3-4 times.
With printhead facing down, use a paper towel - firmly hold printhead onto paper towel - ink should ';wick'; onto towel.
Do not ';Wipe'; printhead with paper towel; would probably result in damage to the printhead.
If you visabily see ink on towel, re-try cartridge in printer.
If not, using a pan, mix ~ 50% Ammonia / 50% Water; heat until is is steaming, but not boiling - hold printhead in solution for ~ 10 seconds, then use paper towel.
If all else fails, try using 50% alcohol %26amp; 50% water - alcohol may damage or destroy you're printhead.
Good Luck,

';Little Covered Wagon Cartridge X-change';I havent used my printer in a while and now the black ink barely prints on paper it isnt empty.?
I assume the print head is blocked if it is a bubble jet you could try running the print utility or cleaning the print nozzles in cloudy ammonia if your print cartridge is micro chipped your best bet is to run the print nozzle check failing that replace the cartridge
it is empty or dried up. Some ppl say if you leave power on to printer is keeps ink jet warm and prevents this? Either way get it re inked they cheaper than new
